Overview
Located in the heart of Ubud, Bali, the monkey forest is a sprawling jungle covering more than 10 hectares. It’s home to over 1200 playful monkeys, three sacred Hindu temples and over 100 species of trees. The lush surroundings are filled with hindu carvings and statuary with a rocky stream running right through the heart of it all. Walking through this sacred monkey forest really imparts a sense of wonder and mysticism.
Dating back hundreds of years, the Ubud monkey forest is of great cultural significance to the Balinese people, a cultural significance that they are more than happy to share with you.
